MPH Industries was formed in 1975 to produce speed measurement equipment for law enforcement. At that time, most speed enforcement equipment was based on Doppler radar, and MPH became a leader in that market. Its leadership in the radar market continues through today, with a wide variety of enforcement equipment as well as speed advisory signs and trailers.

In 1988, MPH was purchased by MPD, Inc., a company with a long history of making components for Doppler radars. MPD also purchased CMI, Inc. of Minturn, Colorado, and merged its traffic radar products into MPH. Later, MPD purchased the DocuCam line of in-car video equipment and integrated it into MPH as well. In 2012, MPD purchased Laser Atlanta, LLC, and merged its products into the MPH line. MPH had been a distributor of Laser Atlanta’s SpeedLaser® products for 8 years prior to the acquisition.

Laser Atlanta designed and manufactured laser measurement systems for professionals. Beginning in 1989, several generations of laser sensors have been developed for mapping, facilities management, surveying, blast profiling, traffic monitoring, and speed detection applications. In addition to standard products, our laser technology is used in creating OEM solutions. MPH now designs, develops and manufactures specialty solutions for aerospace, automotive and transportation industries based on the technology acquired with Laser Atlanta.
